PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
ROLL CALL:
Council Members Linda Baker, Ron Jones and Gale Owens were present. Also present were Angela Glass, Clerk-Treasurer, Craig Hollopeter, Town Marshall, Joey McNeal, filling in for Town Superintendent, Jasun Blocher, John Conley, representing the fire department and Vern Landis, Town Attorney
GUEST:
Melissa from Day of Caring did not show up.
MINUTES:
The minutes from April 5th, 13th, and 26th were presented. Gale made the first motion to accept the minutes as written, Linda 2nd, motion carried with no further discussion.
CITIZENS:
(1)JOHN CONLEY again asked why his wife, Tonya Conley was not allowed to be picked up on the Town's medical insurance policy. Angie and Linda both explained that it was a law that had to do with secondary insurance and an HSA plan. Angie stated that she would get a hold of Chris Cotton, the towns insurance agent and try to get the information in writing.
(2)TONY MIDDLETON was asking about the signs that were to be installed at the boat ramp last summer. The signs have not been installed and he wanted to know when that was going to happen. He also wanted to know if the town knew that the property owned by Debra Corn was for sale next to the boat ramp.He thought the town might be interested in purchasing the land.
OLD BUSINESS:
(1)HIRING A BUILDING COMMISSIONER-The topic was discussed and it was determined to place and ad in the times union to see if we receive any other applicants. The candidates must have a building inspector's license.
NEW BUSINESS:
(1)ORDINANCE 05-01-10; an ordinance amending vacation time was read in full. Gale made the first motion to suspend the rules and read by title only, Linda 2nd, motion carried. Angie Glass read the ordinance by title only. Ron made the first motion to accept the ordinance, Linda 2nd, motion carried with no further discussion.
(2)SHAWN SHILLING wanted to donate a piece of property that he owns to the town. Vern Landis said that the town could not accept the land until a title search was completed.
(3)COMPLAINTS must have the following information on them in order to be considered: name and phone number. All information will be kept confidential.
(4)BUILDING REPAIR QUOTES were tabled at this time.
DEPARTMENT HEADS:
(1)JOEY- All trees are done* at this time the council also wanted to congratulate Jasun Blocher on passing his wastewater testing. He was 1 of 19 out of 250 applicants that passed.
(2)CRAIG- Sent out over 60 warning letters for yards that need mowed and clean up* working on remodeling the office* a new electric box is need for Silver Lake Days vendors. The Silver Lake Days Committee had offered to pay for half the expense if the town will pay half. The Council agreed to that.
(3)JOHN- Fire Dept. had 2 runs since the last meeting* the base radio license for the station has expired. Accoring to J&K it has been expired for 8 years. The cost to get the license up to date is $600.00* Requested to purchase a projector at $238.00 and a projector screen at $150.00. Ron made the first motion to spend $1000.00 for the license and the projector and screen, Gale 2nd, motion carried with no further discussion.

MISCELLANEOUS:
SHIRLEY NIBLICK wanted to know when they were planning on paving the four way stop at Pleasant and Myrtle Glenn. Joey responded that it should be done soon.
CLAIM DOCKET:
Ron made first motion to accept the claim docket for $112,709.19, Gale 2nd, motion carried no further discussion.
ADJOURN:
Linda made first motion to adjourn, Gale 2nd, motion carried with no further discussion.
